HOJO Tomoko

HOJO Tomoko is an artist working within the fluidity between sound, music and performance. Recently she engages in developing projects concerning Yoko ONO in Tokyo and London, based upon the theme of making audible the voices (of women) that have been silenced throughout history. She also works as HOJO+KRAFT with Swiss-born musician and artist Rahel KRAFT, seeking for hidden, faint and intimate sounds, which are often inaudible in the relationship between people and place. Recent grants include, New York Fellowship, Asian Cultural Council (2019) and the Grants for Overseas Study by Young Artists, The Pola Art Foundation (2017). She was a visiting researcher at Creative Research into Sound Arts Practice (CRiSAP), London College of Communication, University of the Arts London in 2017-2018.
