Kamagasaki university of arts is used to resemble the Nishinari in Osaka city, alias Kamagasaki. As “If there is people who want to learn, there is university.”, this organization holds more than 100 lectures in various place. Participants is diverse, such as homeless people in local area, people who receive the livelihood protection, come from other outside, refugees, kids, traveler from domestic and abroad, people who cannot write the words, is difficult to hear, is difficult to see. It is free choice of late and absent, just one time join. Basically people do not need to pay entrance feebut we welcome the donation for the activity. Characteristic is the participants ask topresenters impalpable question because some participants does not care anything.
In 2018, we created “Kamagasaki Youkai Karuta”. ( Japanese traditional card game) In 2019, dug the well with laborers who originally worked as daily employments. Kamagasaki university of arts goes out and have a lecture, performance in various areas, such as Yokohama triennale 2014, and so on domestic and overseas. Kamagasaki university of arts is run by cocoroom the NPO. We started from pretending to the cafe´ from 2003 and touch this area.
