SAIHATE Tahi "The Acceleration of Poetry", Saitama Triennale 2020 / Photo: MARUO Ryuichi
SAIHATE Tahi, a poet who has published numerous poetry anthologies, and is also an active novelist and essayist, continues to expand the scope of her activities through using words as a tool for traversing different realms of expression.
In the Triennale, works are presented in the two locations of a n alley in the Minami-Ginza area and the Daimon Underpass around Omiya station in an aim to create chance situations in which people encounter poetry unexpectedly within the city. The two poems that have been written for this occasion blend into the scenery of these places, and may perhaps bring a new sense of awareness to our daily lives as the “words” form connections with the respective emotions and events experienced by each viewer.
